Even the famous have allergies. This past week, Britney Spears’ son, Jayden, was hospitalized due to an apparent allergic reaction.
According to this site:
Doctors believe, it was due to an allergic reaction to fried chicken. The two-year-old tot – who was rushed to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Kentwood, Louisiana, on Sunday (November 9, 2008) after suffering a suspected seizure and going into a “vague and unresponsive state” – had eaten the food from a nearby takeaway establishment an hour before falling ill.
Other sources say they are just not sure what caused the reaction. According to People.com:
Jayden was taken to the hospital after suffering “a terrible allergic reaction. He had hives, was itchy and irritable,” according to the source, who says that Britney Spears and her mother, Lynne, spent the night at the hospital with Jayden. As for what caused the reaction, “They’re just not sure,” said the source.
As we know, those of us dealing with allergies already, it’s very scary and unpredictable. It’s also very difficult sometimes to nail down the culprit, whether it’s chicken, what it was fried in or something else completely. It’s a shame, though, that for a celebrity and especially one as notorious as Britney, that this becomes more of another reason to gossip than a real concern for her son’s and everyone else’s with food allergies health and well being.
She did receive favorable reactions from her ex-husband and others for doing the right thing by admitting Jayden to the hospital and keeping him there overnight for observation. Also, Britney has been known to suffer from skin allergies, so as we know again, this is all connected.
