Farmers Almanac Warns Wet Spring, Allergy Sufferers Beware
According to the 2008 Farmer’s Almanac, it will be a wet spring all over the country. A wet spring means a bad allergy season due to more pollen growth. Start now to prepare for the spring and maybe prevent some sneezing. Doctors recommend controlling your allergy and your environment; medicate if needed and do your spring cleaning. (source)

Health Tip: Allergy Shots Aren’t for Everyone
American Academy of Family Physicians warns that though allergy shots are usually safe, they are not for everyone. There is a list on this site including pregnant women and children under 5. If you are considering shots for yourself of a family member, research it thoroughly to determine if it is the best option. (source)

Martha Stewart Living pooled ideas from staff which were voted on by viewers of the show. The idea posed by Alexis, the Deputy Home Editor at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is for a food allergy magazine; it tied with an idea for a magazine for pet lovers. Though it is unknown at this time if Martha Stewart Living will actually produce a food allergy magazine, it is a good possibility that the current magazine will begin to incorporate more food allergy information and safe recipes. New Alexander, the Elephant Who Couldn’t Eat Peanuts DVDs Help Children With Food Allergies

FAAN is releasing two new videos to promote food allergy awareness in children. Both videos feature Alexander the Elephant, who is allergic to peanuts. One is about school, the other about babysitters. The videos feature animation and Alexander, along with interviews from children with food allergies. This is good way to allay some of the fears that children have about their food allergies. (source)
