According to an article on Healthknowitall.net, there could be a cure for peanut allergies on the horizon, check it out:

Boston (HealthKnowItAll) – British researchers say that they have come up with a cure for peanut allergies.
They say exposing children to peanut flour over a prolonged period of time can actually increase their tolerance to actual peanuts.
If this is actually true, this technique could save many lives each year that are lost due to allergic reactions due to peanut butter.
In their small study, researchers exposed children with peanut allergies to peanut flour for a 6 month period, gradually increasing the amount the kids were exposed too, and thus they say increasing their tolerance.
After the 6 months, the children who had allergies to peanuts were apparently cured of their allergy.
The children were actually eating up to 5 peanuts a day.
According to the researchers, 1 in 50 people living in the UK is allergic to peanuts.

Of course, under no circumstances should anyone allergic to peanuts try this method on their own. It could not only be dangerous, but it could be life threatening. These tests have been done under careful supervision with precautions intact.

It is inspiring to know there could be a cure, and one as simple as this. Perhaps soon, the peanut allergy scare will be a thing of the past. Wouldn’t it e nice if this was one less in the world we had to worry about? And I wonder, if this could be done with peanuts, can it be done with tree nuts as well, and then milk and soy and seafood and strawberries and wheat and…
